Will I still tan while taking Sunsafe Rx™?
A tan is a sign of skin damage; melanocytes produce melanin (the pigment
in skin that gives it color) in response to DNA damage. So to prevent or
delay tanning means that skin damage has been reduced. Yet interestingly,
some of the ingredients in Sunsafe Rx can actually help people achieve
a deeper tan. One reason for this is, since Sunsafe Rx helps skin
resist sun damage, people who may have otherwise ended up with a sunburn
after a certain period of time in the sun instead simply end up tanning.
The other reason is that some of the carotenoids in Sunsafe Rx have
been documented to help pigment areas of skin with depigmentation—reducing
